AccelerComm is a Southampton-based provider of high-performance physical layer intellectual property for 5G and 6G radio access networks, including non-terrestrial networks (NTN) that connect satellites to mobile devices. Its portfolio ranges from customisable signal processing components to complete physical layer solutions, implemented in software, AI engines, FPGA and ASIC-ready IP cores, and designed to align with O-RAN, SCF and 3GPP standards. Its channel coding products, including LDPC and Polar forward error correction IP, correct transmission errors caused by noise, interference and weak signals, and the company also offers LEOPhy, a layer 1 modem for low-earth-orbit 5G satellite communications.

The company was spun out of the University of Southampton in 2016 by Professor Rob Maunder. Its technology powers more than 200 satellites in orbit, and its customers and partners include Vodafone, Intel, AMD, National Instruments, Lockheed Martin and Radisys. Lockheed Martin uses AccelerComm solutions in its Advanced Regenerative 5G NR NTN Base Station, which is set to be the first regenerative 5G NTN payload on orbit. In 2025 the company joined the Mobile Satellite Users Association and launched a 5G NR NTN physical layer solution that supports over 6Gbps, 128 beams and 4,096 user connections per chipset. In 2026 it joined the Airbus UpNext SpaceRAN demonstrator, completed two engineering engagements with Eclipse Space on the physical layer for sovereign satellite constellations, and was selected for a European Space Agency-funded programme on regenerative 5G satellite processors for low earth orbit constellations.

AccelerComm has raised funding from IP Group, Parkwalk, Swisscom Ventures, Hostplus, IQ Capital and Bloc Ventures. A $15M round closed in June 2025 was led by IP Group, and the same month David Helfgott was appointed chief executive officer, succeeding Tom Cronk. Richard Greco was appointed chairman in March 2025. The company holds 56 patents as of April 2026.
