Definition of Deep Tech

Definition

Deep tech companies build products on substantial scientific or engineering breakthroughs, not just new business models or software on existing technology. Their edge comes from hard-to-replicate research and IP in areas like AI, robotics, space, quantum, semiconductors, energy, advanced materials and biotech. That usually means longer development timelines, more capital before revenue, and the potential to reshape whole industries.
