About
Aisti Corporation Oy is a Finnish acoustic materials company based in Jyväskylä, founded in 2019 by Mikko Paananen, Antti Fredrikson and Petri Jetsu to develop and scale sustainable building materials for interior environments. Its main product, the Aisti Aalto acoustic ceiling tile (earlier also marketed as Aisti Teno), is made from natural wood fibre using a foam-forming process in which bubbles distribute the fibres evenly to create a lightweight, porous structure. The tiles contain no plastic binders or mineral wool, are fully recyclable, achieve Class A sound absorption and B-s1,d0 fire classification, and fit standard suspended ceiling systems.
The company's first commercial factory is being built in Kitee, Finland, with Elomatic handling facility design and AFRY serving as engineering partner for the production line. The plant is planned to produce 2.5 million square metres of tiles annually and is scheduled to open in August 2026. Aisti has signed offtake agreements with four Norwegian construction companies, covering 24% of the Kitee factory's first-year production capacity, and sells through Nordic distributors in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Funding includes a €1.6M seed round in April 2022 led by Maki.vc, and a €29M Series A in December 2024 combining equity with a €7M grant from the South Savo ELY Centre, loans from Norion Bank and the Finnish Climate Fund, and support from Finnvera. In December 2025 the European Investment Bank provided a €20M venture debt loan under the InvestEU programme to expand production and research and development. The company was also recognised in the 2026 TIME and Statista ranking of top GreenTech companies.
