Autonomous hybrid USV/UUV drone

About

ANGLER is a Prague-based company, registered as Angler s.r.o., developing a hybrid drone platform designed for autonomous operation both as a surface vessel (USV) and as an underwater vehicle (UUV). The platform is intended for environmental monitoring, infrastructure inspection, search and rescue, and security missions, with a focus on persistent, long-range monitoring in challenging marine conditions and underwater environments.

The platform is modular, allowing rapid configuration changes for specific mission requirements. It uses deep learning algorithms for target recognition, object tracking, and mission adjustment based on real-time data. Its navigation stack integrates inertial navigation systems with fiber optic gyroscopes for UUV navigation, and it includes a submerging system to enable both surface and underwater functionality. The company describes the system as capable of 24/7 operation for environmental monitoring and the protection of critical infrastructure.

The company was co-founded by Pavel Panasjuk, who serves as CEO. Its origins are linked to the 2022 war in Ukraine, when the founders shifted from supplying the military to building autonomous underwater systems intended for future naval operations, later moving to a hybrid surface-underwater design. ANGLER raised a seed round led by MITS Capital in May 2025 and presented at Bpifrance's Euroquity Defence Week in October 2025. In August 2026 it announced its first public appearance at DALO Industry Days in Scandinavia.
