Ankar is a London-based AI platform for enterprise innovation and intellectual property teams. Its software covers the patent lifecycle in one workflow, from novelty and prior-art analysis across large patent and scientific corpora to invention disclosure, drafting, prosecution and examiner response management. The company positions its product as an assistant rather than an autopilot, with professionals keeping control of claims and strategy.

Ankar was founded in 2024 by former Palantir employees Tamar Gomez and Wiem Gharbi. It raised a £3M seed round led by Index Ventures in May 2025, then a $20M Series A led by Atomico in December 2025, with Index Ventures, Norrsken VC and Daphni participating. Total funding was reported at about $24M.

Customers named in coverage include L'Oréal and the law firm Vorys, and the company reports an average 40% productivity boost for users. Ankar plans to use the Series A to grow its go-to-product, engineering and go-to-market teams and expand in the US.
