About

Apogeo Space is an Italian newspace company based in Brescia that is building a constellation of picosatellites to provide Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to devices in remote or poorly connected areas. The company was founded in 2015 as GP Advanced Projects by Guido Parissenti and Primo Attinà, who had previously worked together at Thales Alenia Space, and was renamed Apogeo Space in 2022. Its satellites are 1/3U picosatellites that use very high frequency (VHF) spectrum to connect low-power, battery-powered devices.

The company launched its Flexible Experimental Embedded Satellite (FEES) demonstrator in April 2021 and a second satellite, FEES2, from the International Space Station in January 2022. Its first batch of nine operational satellites was launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 in November 2023 and released by D-Orbit's orbital transfer vehicle. The company plans a constellation of roughly 100 satellites, with continuous global coverage targeted for 2027. It has launch agreements with D-Orbit, Momentus and INNOSPACE.

Apogeo Space also offers space services for organisations outside the space sector, including program management, technical support and R&D funding, and runs grant-funded projects with ASI, ESA and NASA. Partnerships include Telespazio Brasil for expansion into Latin America, announced in 2025, and Kepler Aerospace for ground station integration, announced in 2026.
