About
Argive is the propulsion division of Alloyed Ltd, an Oxford University spin-out founded in 2017. Established in 2025, Argive develops and manufactures additively manufactured microturbine engines for UAVs and defence applications, leveraging Alloyed's proprietary Alloys-by-Design® platform, advanced superalloys, and digital manufacturing processes. The division offers two flagship products: the A300 (a 300N-thrust microturbine weighing 3 kg, fuel-flexible and in serial production) and the A1100 (a 1,100N-class engine that went from concept to flight-ready in under seven months). Both engines are ITAR-free, built with UK IP and nearshore supply chains.
Argive's engines are co-developed with the UK Ministry of Defence's Strategic Capabilities Office and are designed for platforms ranging from small loitering munitions to larger uncrewed aircraft. The engines are built around additive manufacturing from the outset, enabling a fourfold reduction in part count, rapid design iteration, and scalable production. The A300 has been selected by MGI Engineering to power its SkyShark one-way effector drone.
The parent company Alloyed has raised approximately £85 million in total funding, backed by Oxford Science Enterprises, Development Bank of Japan, SPARX Group, Aviva Investors, JX Advanced Metals, Anglo American, and Future Industry Ventures. Alloyed employs around 300 people across the UK and internationally. Argive targets production of up to 1,000 turbines per month in the medium term to support affordable, sovereign drone fleets for the UK and allied nations.
