About

Argotec is an Italian space company founded in 2008 in Turin by David Avino. It designs, manufactures and operates small satellites of up to 200 kg, and in 2025 it began expanding its platforms to heavier models of up to 350 kg. The company builds its satellites in-house, from concept and design to integration and in-orbit operations, and also develops human spaceflight equipment such as the ISSpresso microgravity espresso machine developed with Lavazza and delivered to the International Space Station in 2015. Its SpacePark factory near Turin is described as a large automated facility for satellite production.

Argotec has flown missions with NASA and the Italian Space Agency, including the LICIACube and ArgoMoon microsatellites on the DART and Artemis I missions, and it holds European Space Agency and Italian Space Agency contracts, including a 2024 order for 15 Earth observation satellites for the IRIDE constellation. Its products include the Hawk and Hawk Plus satellite platforms, the Curie power suite for deep space CubeSats, and the FERMI radiation-hardened on-board computer. The company is developing intelligent, cooperative satellites with on-board AI data processing for weather, Earth observation and defence applications, and in October 2026 it launched a first defence surveillance satellite with Rheinmetall Italia aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9.

Argotec has offices in Turin, Cologne at the European Astronaut Centre, and in Melbourne, Florida, where it opened a US production facility in 2026 with a $25 million investment. Revenue was reported at 57 million euros in 2025, up 60 percent, with EBITDA above 16 million euros, and the company has set targets of more than 70 million euros for 2026 and more than 100 million euros in 2027. Argotec had been self-funded since its founding until October 2026, when NUO Space led a 50 million euro growth round, with a larger round of more than 150 million euros planned for early 2027.
