About
Arondite is a London-based British defence technology company building Cobalt, a hardware-agnostic software platform that connects and orchestrates autonomous systems such as drones, ground robots and AI-powered sensors from different manufacturers. The platform acts as a 'connective tissue' that lets human operators oversee multiple systems through a single interface, supporting mission-critical decisions, human-machine teaming and safer deployment of autonomy. It also works as a data layer, using AI and machine learning to deliver analytics and insights.
Cobalt is designed for deployment in austere environments. Early use cases include minefield clearance and protecting critical infrastructure such as transport and energy networks. The company's founders include former British Army officer Will Blyth, who previously worked at Palantir and Helsing, and Rob Underhill, a former lead engineer at BAE Systems and founding engineer at Garrison Technology.
Traction includes a multi-million pound contract with the UK Ministry of Defence to deploy Cobalt across the British Army's 16 Air Assault Brigade (March 2026), and a strategic partnership with defence prime Babcock International (December 2025) to deploy Cobalt across platforms including ARMOR, a Royal Navy 'Hybrid Navy' system. Sources also report deployments with NATO allies. In September 2025 the company announced plans to invest £100 million in its UK operations over five years.
