About

ATLANT 3D is an atomic-scale advanced manufacturing company that develops digital, atomically precise processing technologies for the microelectronics value chain. Its proprietary Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) technology is a microreactor-based system that deposits materials selectively at the atomic scale, and it is said to support more than 450 materials. The company offers its NANOFABRICATOR® systems, including the NANOFABRICATOR® LITE for academic and industrial research and the NANOFABRICATOR® PRO for AI-driven materials discovery, along with a zero-gravity variant. Its technology targets applications in optics and photonics, sensors and MEMS, advanced packaging and semiconductor fabrication, energy applications such as batteries and fuel cells, and RF and printed electronics.

The company was founded in 2018 in Denmark by Maksym Plakhotnyuk, Ivan Kundrata and Julien Bachmann, with early development linked to the Technical University of Denmark and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. ATLANT 3D has a UK entity, a Danish entity and a US subsidiary in Orinda, California. Its customers include NASA, which purchased a zero-gravity system in 2021, and a leading global AI hyperscaler that ordered a NANOFABRICATOR® LITE system in 2026. Other partners include STMicroelectronics, Sony, Siemens Cre8Ventures, Thales Alenia Space and the European Space Agency.

ATLANT 3D participates in several publicly funded European projects, including CLOSER on circular semiconductor raw materials, ACES on copper metallization and edge passivation for solar cells, and AMUSENS on multi-material gas sensors. It is also a partner in CERMETAD, which develops reconfigurable intelligent surfaces for 5G and 6G networks. The company has signed collaboration agreements with academic and research institutions including UC Berkeley, the NUS Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials, A*STAR IMRE and the University of Manchester's Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre.
