About

Buntar Aerospace is a Ukrainian defence-tech company founded in August 2023 in Kyiv by Ivan Kaunov, Bohdan Sas, and Kateryna Bezsudna. The company builds autonomous unmanned aerial systems and software for military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), designed specifically for high-intensity warfare with dense electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures.

Its flagship hardware product, the Buntar-3, is a VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) UAV built for deep reconnaissance at operational-tactical depth up to 100 km from the operator station. The system uses NATO-standard communications and GPS-independent navigation to operate reliably where conventional drones lose connectivity or experience 'slideshow'-grade video. On the software side, Buntar Copilot is an AI-powered battle assistant that integrates situational awareness services (DELTA), meteorological data, and terrain elevation maps to help operators plan and execute missions — reducing the risk of aircraft loss and enabling a single crew to manage dozens of autonomous vehicles simultaneously.

Buntar's products are actively deployed by frontline units across Ukraine. The company has attracted over $30 million in total funding and counts Axon Enterprise, Freedom Fund VC, Gardar Venture Capital, Iron Wolf Capital, and Autonomy Capital among its backers. Buntar is also developing a smaller reconnaissance drone called the Skyhopper and is expanding into dual-use civilian markets and international customers.
