About
CurifyLabs is a Helsinki-based healthtech company founded in 2021 by Charlotta Topelius and Niklas Sandler Topelius. The company grew out of roughly a decade of research by Niklas Sandler Topelius at Åbo Akademi University on modernizing extemporaneous drug manufacturing. It develops automated systems for non-sterile compounding of personalized medicines in pharmacies and hospital pharmacies.
The company's Compounding System Solution combines GMP-manufactured excipient bases (sold under the CuraBlend name), compounding robotics inspired by 3D printing, integrated in-process quality control, software and a formulation library. Its hardware includes the PharmaPrinter Aurum, a system that was described as compounding up to nine times faster than manual methods. CurifyLabs Create, a software platform for designing and adjusting formulations, was released in October 2025. The company also offers CuraBlend Vet, a line of 3D-printed personalized medicines for pets, launched in December 2025.
The platform is designed to support USP <795>-aligned non-sterile compounding with digital batch records and traceability. Its customers include independent and compounding pharmacies in the United States and Europe, as well as hospitals such as Tartu University Hospital in Estonia and Helios in Germany. The technology is reported to be in use in pharmacies across 21 U.S. states and several European markets, where it prepares thousands of doses daily.
CurifyLabs has offices in Helsinki, Bad Laer in Germany and Jacksonville, Florida. In July 2026 it closed a $14M Series A round co-led by Sandwater and HealthCap, with participation from Tesi and existing investor Lifeline Ventures, to expand U.S. operations, strengthen its supply chain and accelerate product development. The company has also led RoboPharma, a €5.6M EU-funded project to develop decentralized, robotics-based pharmaceutical production.
