About

DeltaQuad is a Dutch manufacturer of long-range electric fixed-wing VTOL unmanned aerial vehicles, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Duivendrecht, near Amsterdam. The company's flagship product, the DeltaQuad Evo, is a battlefield-proven ISR platform offering up to 272 km range, 4+ hours of standard endurance (and a record 8 hours 55 seconds with Tulip Tech solid-state batteries), a 3 kg dual-payload capacity, and AI-powered autonomy built on the Auterion flight OS. The platform is configurable with EO/IR cameras, multispectral sensors, LiDAR, and advanced anti-jamming GPS systems for defence, security, and industrial missions.

DeltaQuad is a key supplier to the Netherlands Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian Armed Forces under the Netherlands' €400M Drone Action Plan. In October 2024, the Dutch Ministry of Defence awarded DeltaQuad a €42.6M contract — the first order under the plan — to supply ISR drones to Ukraine. The company has since signed a Letter of Intent with the Ministry to further scale production of Evo VTOL UAVs, and has partnered with VDL Groep to establish additional production lines at VDL's facility in Born, Limburg, targeting production of hundreds and eventually thousands of drones per month.

Founded as Vertical Technologies by Sander Smeets, the company rebranded and pivoted heavily into defence following Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, growing from ~20 people in 2023 to approximately 80 employees by 2025. In early 2026, DeltaQuad brought on Dutch investment firms Parcom and Keen Venture Partners as strategic shareholders to support innovation, international expansion, and scaling of European sovereign UAV capabilities. The company is also a founding member of the Deep Tech Defence Alliance (DTDA).
