About

Elliptic is a London-headquartered blockchain analytics and crypto compliance company founded in 2013 by James Smith, Adam Joyce and Tom Robinson. It was among the first companies to build cryptoasset anti-money laundering and sanctions compliance tools based on blockchain analytics. The company has offices in New York and Singapore, and has also operated in Japan and other Asian markets.

Its platform, built around a proprietary data layer covering more than 65 blockchains, provides real-time wallet and transaction screening, cross-chain investigations and ecosystem monitoring. Products include Lens for transaction screening, Discovery for VASP and entity due diligence, Investigator for cross-chain investigations, Data Fabric, and AI tools such as the Elliptic copilot, the Decode agent and the Pulse lead prioritization tool for law enforcement. Elliptic has also published research on compliance engineering practices and partnered with infrastructure providers such as Circle, Solana, Kaia and BVNK.

Elliptic's customers include banks, crypto exchanges, payment providers, stablecoin issuers and government agencies. Reported customers and partners include Coinbase, HSBC, Revolut and BitGo. Elliptic has supported law enforcement operations, including work with the FBI, the US Department of Justice, the RCMP and the UK National Crime Agency, and has been recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer.

Elliptic raised a $120M Series D in May 2026 led by One Peak, with participation from Nasdaq Ventures, Deutsche Bank and the British Business Bank, at a stated valuation of $670M. Earlier investors include Octopus Ventures, SBI Group, Evolution Equity Partners, Wells Fargo Strategic Capital and JPMorgan Chase, and HSBC made a strategic investment in 2025.
