About

Greenjets is a British aerospace technology company developing advanced propulsion systems, aircraft platforms, and launch technologies for the next generation of aviation and defence. Founded in 2022 and spun out from Blue Bear Systems Research, the company builds patented electric ducted fan engines that are up to 93% quieter than open-bladed propellers, up to 45% more efficient, and capable of speeds up to 125 m/s. Its engine families — Sycamore, Hemlock, and Aspen — serve applications ranging from small commercial drones to eVTOL and regional aircraft, with customers across North America and Europe.

The company's team carries over 200 years of combined aerospace and motorsport expertise drawn from Rolls-Royce, General Electric, BAE Systems, RTX, Lilium, Cosworth, and Formula 1. Greenjets offers both product sales and bespoke integration services, working closely with airframe manufacturers from initial design through to delivery. Its facilities have grown from 12,000 to nearly 70,000 sq ft of UK floor space, with offices also in New York and Hyderabad.

On the defence side, Greenjets was selected by the UK Ministry of Defence in July 2026 as one of three companies under the Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors (LCADE) programme to develop a British low-cost drone interceptor, with demonstration trials expected later that year. The LCADE programme is part of LEAP, a five-nation European initiative involving the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Poland. Greenjets is positioning its integrated propulsion and aircraft technology stack as foundational infrastructure for both sovereign defence capability and the broader commercial aviation transition to electric and autonomous flight.
