About
HIMERA is a Kyiv-based developer and manufacturer of secure tactical communication systems for defence forces. The company was founded in 2022 by Misha Rudominski and Oleksii Oliynyk following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and serial production of its handheld radios began in April 2023. Its flagship G1 Pro handheld radio uses frequency-hopping spread spectrum and 256-bit encryption, and the product line also includes B1 and R1 repeaters and digital radio modules. The systems support voice and data transmission, mesh and MANET networking, and are designed to resist electronic warfare jamming and interception. Thousands of units have been delivered to Ukrainian combat units.
HIMERA has expanded beyond Ukraine. In 2024 it became the exclusive supplier of its tactical radios in the United States through Reticulate Micro, and in 2025 it sold radios to the US Air Force Research Laboratory and completed a first state order for the Ministry of Defence of a NATO member country. Field trials were conducted in the United States in 2026. The company has partnerships with Quantropi for quantum-secure encryption, with Tencore to integrate its radios into the TerMIT unmanned ground system, with Estonian firm Wayren for tactical command kits, with Swarmer to integrate jamming-resistant communications into AI drone autonomy, and with Finland's Bittium on secure communications technologies. In 2026 it also signed a strategic partnership with the 2nd NGU Corps Khartiia.
HIMERA works with the satellite company GomSpace on OBRIA NANO, a test satellite launched in October 2026 as the first step toward a planned independent Ukrainian satellite communications network. The company has raised more than $3.2M in total funding, including a seed round of over $2.5M in December 2025 led by Green Flag Ventures. Earlier backers include United Angels Network, Nezlamni Fund and Green Flag Ventures, and the company received a grant from the Google for Startups Ukraine Support Fund. HIMERA has offices in Kyiv and Tallinn.
