About

Holyvolt is a Stockholm-based company founded in 2022 that develops and commercializes energy generation and storage products. Its technology combines precision screen printing with high-throughput material discovery, allowing battery and thin-film solar cells to be printed under ambient conditions without the energy- and capital-intensive vacuum and clean-room processes used in conventional manufacturing. The company says this approach supports lower-cost, modular and localized production, and it is developing next-generation battery designs built layer by layer across different chemistries.

In March 2026 Holyvolt acquired Wildcat Discovery Technologies, a San Diego battery materials company, in a deal valued at about $73 million paid in cash, equity and deferred milestone payments. Wildcat's high-throughput platform has run hundreds of projects for customers including BMW, and Holyvolt combines it with AI models trained on the resulting test data in what it calls a Discovery Engine. Its first material, DRX, is a nickel- and cobalt-free cathode material, with commercialization reported as planned for 2027, starting with drones.

In June 2026 Wildcat and EnergyX announced a joint venture to build a planned 15,000-tonne-per-year lithium iron phosphate cathode material plant at Hooks, Texas, with a reported investment of more than $230 million. Holyvolt has backed its growth with equity from Volvo Group, the Wallenberg-owned FAM, Course Corrected, Zone II Ventures and Fifth Wall, and in October 2026 announced a $45 million round at a reported $245 million valuation.
