About
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, owning and operating the world's largest and most advanced synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation. Founded in Finland in 2014 by Rafal Modrzewski and Pekka Laurila, the company provides persistent, all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation capabilities at 25 cm resolution to defense and intelligence agencies, governments, insurers, utilities, and emergency management organizations worldwide.
The company's core offering spans sovereign satellite missions — where governments acquire and operate their own ICEYE-built SAR constellations — as well as on-demand SAR data access, tactical ISR systems (including the deployable ISR Cell container), and natural catastrophe intelligence for flood, hurricane, and wildfire monitoring. ICEYE's federated architecture enables allied nations to link their sovereign constellations into coalition-scale fleets while retaining full national control. In October 2026, ICEYE and Nokia announced a partnership to develop sovereign LEO satellite communications systems for defense and government customers, with first launches planned for 2028.
With over 1,000 employees spanning offices across Europe, North America, and Asia, ICEYE has delivered sovereign satellite missions to multiple governments including Poland (MikroSAR), the Netherlands, and others. The company is ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 9001:2015 certified, has been recognized in the FT1000 Europe's Fastest Growing Companies for 2024 and 2025, ranked 20th most innovative company globally by Fast Company in 2025, and valued at over €10 billion following its June 2026 Series F round led by General Atlantic.
