About
Isembard is a London-based, software-first precision manufacturing company building a distributed network of AI-powered factories that produce high-precision components for critical industries including aerospace, defence, space, energy, and robotics. Founded in 2024 by Alexander Fitzgerald — a former UK Army reservist and serial entrepreneur who previously founded and sold consumer broadband company Cuckoo — Isembard operates both owned and franchised factories unified by its proprietary agentic platform, MasonOS.
MasonOS integrates the entire manufacturing workflow — quoting, scheduling, supply chain, production, quality control, and delivery — into a single intelligent operating layer. The system connects with customers' CAD files and BOMs to estimate costs and lead times, then optimises production across the distributed factory network, which includes 5-axis CNC milling, turn-mills, wire EDM, and automated equipment. Factories are AS9100/ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials, and JOSCAR certified, producing components in aluminium, steel, titanium, Inconel, and composites.
Isembard's customer base includes leading defence and aerospace primes such as Anduril Industries, Babcock, and Tekever, as well as robotics companies such as ARX Robotics. The company grew from 4 factories to 16 across the UK, Europe, and the US in under a year, reporting tenfold revenue growth year-on-year. In September 2026, Isembard opened its global headquarters and flagship factory in Southwark, central London — a 160,000 sq ft site described as the largest factory to open in the capital since the Second World War. The company is targeting 100 owned and franchised factories in the UK alone by end of 2028.
