About

Leaf Space is an Italian provider of Ground Segment-as-a-Service (GSaaS), giving satellite operators access to a network of owned and operated ground stations. Its Leaf Line service offers telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) and payload data delivery on all-inclusive per-minute pricing, supported by automated scheduling and mission operations support. Leaf Key provides dedicated ground stations and Leaf Hosting provides hosted ground stations for customers who want their own infrastructure.

The company was founded in 2014 at Politecnico di Milano, with its first ground station antenna built in a garage in Milan. It is headquartered in Lomazzo, Italy, and has a US office in Lewes, Delaware. Leaf Space operates more than 40 ground stations across 20+ locations and has supported satellites from customers including Astrocast, Pixxel, D-Orbit, EnduroSat, the European Space Agency and ISRO. In 2025 it was named Scale-Up of the Year at the Astrospace Awards.

Leaf Space serves more than 90 customers, spanning commercial constellations, institutional missions and defence programmes, with over half of its operations supporting missions from the United States. In 2026 it launched TreeNet, an always-on connectivity layer that links satellites and ground infrastructure into a federated mesh network through TreeNodes, so operators can reach satellites without waiting for scheduled ground station passes. Cristina Zanchi became CEO in 2024, succeeding co-founder Jonata Puglia.
