About

Loft Orbital is a space infrastructure company that provides simple, fast, and reliable ways to deploy and operate missions in low Earth orbit. The company has developed a standardized, plug-and-play satellite platform—built on a commodity satellite bus with proprietary hardware (Hub) and software (Cockpit) abstraction layers—that eliminates non-recurring engineering work, dramatically reducing cost and schedule risk. By maintaining an inventory of pre-assembled satellite platforms and pre-booked launches at its integration and test facility in Golden, Colorado, Loft can move customers from contract to orbit faster than traditional approaches.

Loft's business model is satellite-as-a-service: it integrates, launches, and operates missions on behalf of customers spanning commercial space startups, aerospace and defense primes, cloud and AI companies, and government agencies worldwide. Customers include NASA, Microsoft, BAE Systems, the US Space Force, CNES, ESA, EarthDaily, and Helsing. As of 2025, the company had launched 16 satellites, deployed 25+ missions, served 60+ customers, and surpassed $500 million in lifetime bookings.

Loft is expanding aggressively into on-orbit AI, with over 15 AI missions deployed and a growing ecosystem of AI application partners running workloads directly on its LEO satellite fleet. Notable programs include flying NASA JPL's visual language model—the first reported in orbit—and a strategic partnership with Helsing to deploy a multi-sensor satellite constellation for defense and security applications. Loft Federal, a FOCI-mitigated US subsidiary, serves classified national security customers including the Space Development Agency. In 2026, Loft and UAE-based Marlan Space announced a $1 billion program with Mistral AI to build the Altair constellation—50 AI-enabled satellites targeting France, Europe, and the UAE.
