About
Marble (Marble Aerospace Limited) designs, manufactures, and operates fleets of high-speed, fixed-wing eVTOL drones to create a planetary-scale robotic sensor network. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Chippenham, Wiltshire, the company builds its entire system—aircraft, sensors, and software—in-house, enabling real-time maritime and environmental surveillance at a cost far below satellites or conventional manned aircraft.
The company's flagship platform, the MRB5, is a VTOL lift-and-cruise design compact enough to fit in airline hold luggage and deployable within minutes from small vessels. The system covers up to 500 km² per hour, streaming AI-assisted imagery and direct physical measurements in real time. Marble's dual-use strategy serves both government defence and security agencies (coast guards, maritime police, NATO allies) and environmental customers including climate scientists and NGOs, with applications ranging from illegal fishing enforcement to glacier monitoring and piracy early warning.
Marble's master-plan is anchored in the Arctic: since 2025, the company has been running persistent deployments over Greenland's Ilulissat Icefjord as part of ARIA's Forecasting Tipping Points programme, collecting high-resolution 3D data on glacial retreat in partnership with the University of Bergen and the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources. In December 2025 the company was selected into the NATO DIANA 2026 Challenge Programme under the
