About
Marble Imaging is a Bremen-based Earth observation company founded in August 2023, building Europe's first commercial constellation of very-high-resolution (VHR) multispectral satellites. The company plans to operate up to 20 satellites by end of 2028 — capable of imaging in visible, near-infrared, and shortwave infrared spectrum — delivering up to hourly revisit coverage globally. Its first satellite, MarbleSat-1, is scheduled to launch in Q1 2027 via Reflex Aerospace and features the Safran Reosc SEEING230 optical payload and the world's first iodine-fuelled Hall thruster (ThrustMe JPT150).
Marble offers AI-powered data analytics built on top of its imagery, including object detection for situational intelligence (ADaM), terrain and trafficability mapping, coastal vulnerability assessment, aquaculture monitoring, and land cover classification. These services already serve early government and commercial customers, with the company holding a €3 million anchor contract with ESA under the Copernicus Contributing Missions programme. The company also secured more than €10 million in non-dilutive grants via the DLR Small Satellite Payload Competition and ESA InCubed.
The founding team brings over a decade of combined experience from major European EO programmes including Copernicus CO2M, DLR, EUMETSAT, and BKG. Marble has established strategic partnerships with Safran Reosc, Reflex Aerospace, Scanway, Rovsing, tenics, Japan Space Imaging, and the National Taiwan Ocean University, pursuing both European and Asian market expansion. The company is backed by a strong European investor consortium and is preparing a Series A round to accelerate constellation build-out.
