About
MintNeuro (Mint Neurotechnologies Ltd) is an Imperial College London spinout building purpose-built semiconductor chips for neural devices, from active implantable medical devices (AIMDs) and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) to wearable neurotech. Founded in 2022 by Professor Timothy Constandinou, Dr Dorian Haci, Professor Andrew Jackson, and Professor Tim Denison, the company emerged from the Next Generation Neural Interfaces Lab at Imperial and is headquartered in London.
The company's modular chip platform supports neural signal acquisition (EEG, EMG, ECoG, LFP), electrical stimulation with integrated safety control, on-chip signal processing and data reduction, and power management and wireless data transfer. Unlike general-purpose components, MintNeuro's integrated circuits are designed specifically for the body — ultra-low power, miniaturised to peppercorn scale, and manufactured to regulatory-grade standards for implantable applications. The platform is scalable from research prototypes to commercial medical devices.
MintNeuro works with medical-device companies, system integrators, BCI developers, and research institutions. Key partners include Motif Neurotech, Amber Therapeutics, Imperial College London, Newcastle University, and the UK Dementia Research Institute. In January 2025, the company was named a core technology partner in three projects worth a combined £17 million under the UK government's ARIA Precision Neurotechnologies programme, and in October 2026 it closed a $5 million funding round led by Odyssey Ventures to scale product launches and expand internationally.
The company has received over £4 million in grant funding from Innovate UK, NIHR, and ARIA, alongside equity investment. It targets neurological conditions including epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, dementia, and depression, with an ambition to become the foundational semiconductor platform for the global neurotechnology industry.
