About

Mirai Robotics (trading as Mirai, MIRAI S.P.A.) is a Physical AI company founded in 2025 and headquartered in Bari, Puglia, Italy. The company builds software-defined robotic systems and AI-driven information intelligence platforms that connect vessels, sensing, autonomy, and command into a single operational ecosystem designed for persistent maritime operations — from supervised navigation through to fully uncrewed missions.

At its core, Mirai develops autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) with dock-to-dock autonomy, advanced sensor fusion, and onboard intelligence for ISR, coastal surveillance, grey-zone monitoring, and offshore infrastructure protection. In parallel, the company offers its autonomy, navigation, and control software stack as a retrofit layer for third-party vessels, enabling existing fleets to adopt autonomous capabilities without full redesign. Two prototype vehicles had already been developed by the time of its public launch in March 2026.

Mirai targets both defence and commercial customers: defence clients gain persistent ISR presence in contested waters without crew rotation, while commercial operators benefit from continuous offshore inspection, monitoring, and logistics at scale. The company positions itself as Europe's first dual-use startup focused exclusively on complex maritime operations and aims to establish a European centre of excellence for maritime autonomy in Puglia.

CEO Luciano Belviso previously founded Blackshape Aircraft (acquired by Angel Holding); CPO & CTO Luca Mascaro founded Sketchin (acquired by BIP Group); and Chairman Davide Dattoli Zhang founded Talent Garden, Europe's largest digital education platform. The company has vehicles deploying in 2026 and supported the Fincantieri Maritime Security Hackathon in Rome in June 2026 as an industry partner.
