About
Nouscom is a clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, with research and production laboratories in Italy. It develops next-generation cancer immunotherapies based on proprietary viral vector platforms, including recombinant adenovirus isolated from non-human great apes (GAd) and Modified Vaccinia Virus Ankara (MVA). Its programs cover off-the-shelf vaccines that target shared neoantigens and personalized vaccines that encode patient-specific neoantigens, along with oncolytic viruses in earlier development.
The company's lead asset is NOUS-209, an off-the-shelf neoantigen immunotherapy designed to induce T cell responses against 209 shared frameshift neoantigens. It is being developed for cancer interception in people with Lynch syndrome, a hereditary condition that carries a high lifetime risk of colorectal and endometrial cancer. Phase 1b/2 data reported long-term follow-up in which all evaluable Lynch syndrome carriers who received the vaccine remained free of advanced adenomas and colorectal cancer. NOUS-209 has also been studied in a Phase 2 trial in combination with pembrolizumab for MSI-H metastatic colorectal cancer, and the US Food and Drug Administration granted it Fast Track designation in 2026. Nouscom's second clinical program, NOUS-PEV, is a personalized immunotherapy for advanced solid tumors.
Nouscom was founded in 2015 by members of the team behind Okairos, a genetic vaccine company acquired by GSK in 2013. It has raised a series of venture rounds from life sciences investors, including a €120M Series D in October 2026 co-led by M Ventures and Revelation Partners, with participation from the European Investment Bank, Angelini Industries and Neva SGR.
