About
Oko Camera is a Ukrainian defense technology company that designs and manufactures uncooled LWIR thermal imaging cameras for unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground robotic complexes, remotely controlled turrets and visual navigation systems. The company was founded in 2022 by Denys Nikolayenko and Yevhen Syvachenko, who began the business after finding that officially importing thermal cameras into Ukraine was slow and that no serial domestic production existed at the time.
The product range includes the Oko Core line, the Oko Pro line for computer vision applications, which was announced in June 2026 with mass production planned for the third quarter of 2026, and the Oko S compact reconnaissance camera, which was in development as of July 2026. Cameras use a 640×480 sensor with a sensitivity below 30 mK, offer latency under 17 ms at 60 Hz, and are built around custom optics, proprietary electronics, calibration algorithms and image processing software. The company states that its production uses no Chinese components and relies on Ukrainian and European parts.
The company has its own serial production in Ukraine and reports more than 15 foreign contracts and talks about joint ventures abroad. Its awards include first place in the Defense track of the IT Arena Startup Competition 2024, the Newcomer of the Year award at IDF Awards 2024, and BRV1 status from the Brave1 cluster. It was part of Batch 1 of the MITS Accelerator and is supported by the Brussels-based Seven Camp incubator.
