About
Omnisent is a Munich-based acoustic AI company founded in late 2024, developing next-generation multimodal sensing and observation systems for defense and critical infrastructure. At the core of its technology are ultra-low-power sonic sensor nodes and a proprietary Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — a foundation model trained on non-speech audio — that enables real-time detection, classification, and localization of acoustic events such as drone flights.
The company's passive drone-detection product deploys networked sensor nodes that form an intelligent acoustic mesh, providing continuous airspace coverage without emitting any signals. Each node is compact, lightweight, field-hardened, and capable of operating autonomously for over a year. The system performs reliably in fog, rain, GPS-denied environments, and electronic warfare conditions, integrating with existing command-and-control infrastructure. Target customers include defense operators, airports, energy facilities, data centers, prisons, and embassies.
Omnisent was founded by Robin Daiber (CEO, Cambridge Engineering), Ann-Kristin Balve (Co-CTO, Cambridge Machine Learning / Google DeepMind Scholar), and Adrien Jathe (Co-CTO, Imperial College London / ETH Zurich). The trio met in their final year at Cambridge and combines expertise in physics, machine learning, and mechanical engineering. The company has received a Fraunhofer Institute collaboration scholarship, a German federal founder scholarship, and the Founder Award from the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and was recognized as one of the top 10 AI startups in the Cambridge and Oxford ecosystem.
Omnisent closed an oversubscribed $3 million Pre-Seed round in June 2025 led by Atlantic Labs, with participation from several serial entrepreneurs. Capital is being deployed toward R&D, team growth, and commercial launch. The company is expanding from its initial industrial compressed-air leak detection use case into defense, homeland security, energy, space, and smart cities.
