About

Orbital Industries (formerly Orbital Materials) is an AI-first industrial company that uses frontier AI to design, engineer, and manufacture physical products — from advanced materials through to finished hardware. Founded in late 2022, the company integrates materials discovery, hardware engineering, and manufacturing into a single AI-driven loop, compressing development timelines from years to months. Its flagship AI platform, CurieOS, acts as an agentic operating system for science and engineering, combining large-scale simulation (via its Orb model, capable of simulating 100,000 atoms on a single GPU), automated research agents, and cross-disciplinary AI reasoning.

Orbital's first commercial products are aimed at the data center market through its Orbital IT division: a next-generation PFAS-free dielectric cooling fluid for high-density GPU environments, and modular data center systems that can be deployed in as little as six months versus the conventional three-year build cycle. The company's CurieOS platform is also being licensed to industrial partners such as BASF ECMS for catalyst innovation in automotive emissions applications.

Headquartered in London with offices in San Francisco, Orbital Industries has grown to approximately 50 people and has raised $71 million in total disclosed funding. Its investor base includes Plural, NVentures (NVIDIA), Radical Ventures, Compound, Fly Ventures, and Toyota Ventures. The company describes its model as the "AI Industrial" — small, interdisciplinary teams using specialised AI agents and robotic labs to ship better physical products faster and at a fraction of conventional R&D cost.
