Owkin is an agentic AI company building K Pro, an AI Scientist that works alongside pharmaceutical R&D teams to support discovery and strategic decision-making. K Pro orchestrates AI skills and tools over multimodal patient data, with scientists shaping hypotheses and decisions. The company describes its longer-term goal as biological artificial superintelligence.

Owkin's core asset is a patient data network that it says covers about 25 million patients across 840 hospitals, combined with a network of around 150 key opinion leaders. Its wet lab and organoid validation work feeds results back into K Pro as reusable workflows. The company also has diagnostics efforts, including CE-marked products developed through its spin-out Waiv.

Owkin was founded in Paris in 2016 by clinical oncologist Thomas Clozel and machine learning professor Gilles Wainrib. Its partners include Sanofi, Bristol Myers Squibb and MSD, and it was valued above $1 billion after Sanofi's 2021 investment. Its stated markets are biopharma drug development and clinical research.
