About
Project Q GmbH is a European defence-tech company founded in 2024 with offices in Munich and Berlin, building the "Internet of Defence" — an open-core integration and orchestration platform called Hydris that connects sensors, unmanned systems, effectors, and command-and-control systems into a single operational environment.
Hydris is released under an Apache 2.0 open-source licence and is designed to be self-hostable, air-gap ready, and ITAR-free, enabling armed forces and security agencies to integrate heterogeneous legacy and COTS systems without vendor lock-in. Alongside the software platform, the company produces a UGS (unattended ground sensor) Mission Kit — a passive seismic-acoustic sensor network that can be deployed by UAV, UGV, or by hand, offering 30+ days of battery life in an IP67-rated form factor made in Berlin.
Project Q's platform has been deployed with the Bundeswehr and validated at NATO CWIX 2026. In June 2026 the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HENSOLDT to advance software-centric defence and sensor integration across multi-domain architectures. Its total disclosed funding stands at €22.5 million, all from European investors, reflecting the company's focus on European technological sovereignty.
