About

Quside Technologies, S.L., branded Quside, is a quantum technology company based in Castelldefels near Barcelona, Spain. It designs and manufactures quantum random number generators (QRNGs) and randomness processing solutions for cybersecurity and high-performance computing. The company was founded in 2017 as a spin-off of the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), building on roughly a decade of research into photonic quantum technologies.

Its core technology is a photonic chip that generates randomness from the quantum mechanical emission of light and produces random numbers at gigabit-per-second rates. The chip is compatible with standard CMOS semiconductor manufacturing, which enables mass production. Products include the Garnet and Nellite QRNG series, which received Spanish National Security Framework (ENS) qualification in May 2025, the Ruby S1 chip, a Randomness Processing Unit (RPU) offered in the cloud on Amazon Web Services since December 2023, and the quside-curand library for NVIDIA CUDA workflows. Quside received NIST SP800-90B certification for its photonic quantum entropy sources in September 2024.

Quside works with customers and partners including Thales, Equinix, Telefonica, EY, Juniper, Qrypt and Altech in Japan. Its integration with PQShield was announced in September 2024. In June 2025 it was recognized as an emerging player in true random number generators by MarketsandMarkets' 360Quadrants. In 2026 it agreed to cooperate with Indra Group on cybersecurity and quantum projects for the defense sector and announced a collaboration with IKERLAN on cryptographic systems for critical sectors. Its first customers were in high-security sectors such as aerospace, and the company has also pursued consumer applications such as smartphones, tablets and vehicles.

Quside was selected for the EIC Scaling Club in April 2024 and received European Innovation Council Accelerator funding in 2023.
