About
Senodis Technologies GmbH is a Dresden-based industrial technology company that makes components and products identifiable and tamper-proof. It was spun off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in October 2019 to commercialize the CeraCode marking technology developed at IKTS. The company's core product is a laser-free marking concept using heat-stable ceramic inks combined with intelligent code design, so that individual parts carry a unique identity that survives process temperatures above 900 °C in hot forming and up to about 1,600 °C in ceramic sintering.
The product line includes CeraCode Base for metals, CeraCode Base for ceramics, CeraCode Flex, a component fingerprint and software services. The system works with existing marking and scanner equipment without special hardware or plant modifications. It is used to link material batches and process parameters to individual components, to support traceability, quality analysis, counterfeit detection and warranty claims, and to unlock machine or software functions only for genuine parts. Senodis reports a pilot project with a leading global automotive manufacturer and an existing cooperation with a manufacturer of press-hardened automotive components. The company has also pursued projects in areas such as press hardening, solid forming and case hardening, steel bar production and ceramic components.
Senodis won first place in the sheet metal, tube and profile processing category of the best award at Blechexpo 2023 in Stuttgart. The company has raised a seed round totalling about €1.5 million, led by High-Tech Gründerfonds, with participation from Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds and Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen.
