About

SimScale is a Munich-based provider of cloud-native engineering simulation software. The platform runs computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), thermal and electromagnetic simulations in a web browser, combining them with Engineering AI agents that automate simulation setup, execution and reporting, and with Physics AI models that deliver fast predictions trained on high-fidelity simulation data. It was founded in 2012 by five engineers, several of them from the Technical University of Munich, and was spun out of TU München.

The company's products are used across industries including automotive and transportation, industrial equipment and machinery, electronics, energy and turbomachinery, built environment and life sciences. Its technology partnerships include Hexagon's Marc nonlinear solver, which became generally available on the platform in July 2025, NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo, which underpins a centrifugal pump foundation AI model launched in March 2025, and nTop, with which it announced a native geometry integration in June 2025. In 2026 it released an Engineering AI agent for the Onshape CAD platform and opened its Engineering AI agent to its community of more than 900,000 users.

SimScale has raised venture funding from Earlybird, Union Square Ventures, June Fund, Insight Partners and others, with its Series C closed in January 2020 and a €25M Series C extension in October 2021, bringing that round to €52M. Reported customers include Bühler, Silent-Aire, ITW Automotive, Vale, Tecnalia, Atlas Copco's Varisco and Dexory.
