About

Skeleton Technologies is a Tallinn-headquartered maker of high-power energy storage and power systems for AI data centers, grid stability, defense, automotive and heavy transportation. The company was founded in 2009 in Tartu, Estonia, and is built around its proprietary Curved Graphene material, which is used in its supercapacitors and SuperBatteries. Its product line includes the GrapheneUPS double-conversion UPS, the GrapheneGPU peak-shaving system, the GrapheneBBU battery backup unit, and grid-scale systems for e-STATCOM and datacenter applications.

Production is located in Leipzig and Großröhrsdorf in Germany, where the company operates its supercapacitor factory, in Varkaus in Finland, where it opened a SuperBattery factory in 2025, and in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, where Curved Graphene is synthesized. Module and system development is based in Tallinn. Skeleton's supercapacitors have been used in the NTT IndyCar Series hybrid power unit, and its customers and partners include Siemens, Marubeni, Hitachi Energy, Infineon, Hyosung Heavy Industries, DG Matrix and Acbel Polytech. The company has also signed cooperation agreements in defense with KNDS France, GDELS Santa Barbara Sistemas and TEKEVER.

The company has raised about €392 million in venture capital as of May 2026. A strategic investment led by Siemens announced in October 2026 brought its valuation to more than $1 billion. Skeleton is preparing to expand manufacturing in the United States and plans an initial public offering in the United States in 2027.
