Solar Foods is a food technology company that produces Solein, a nutrient-rich, versatile single-cell protein created through a proprietary gas fermentation process. By feeding microorganisms with air, electricity, and captured carbon dioxide, the company decouples protein production from traditional agricultural constraints like land use, weather, and climate. Its technology enables a continuous, highly scalable manufacturing model that functions similarly to energy or water infrastructure.

The company operates its first commercial-scale production facility, Factory 01, in Vantaa, Finland, and is planning its industrial-scale Factory 02 in Lappeenranta to scale production capacity significantly. Solar Foods commercialises Solein in international markets including Singapore and the United States, targeting the health and performance nutrition sectors, while pursuing regulatory approvals in the European Union and expanding global manufacturing partnerships.
