About
Spaceflux is a UK-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Intelligence company operating a proprietary global network of optical sensor sites spanning six continents. Its telescopes — 70cm-class optics equipped with Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) cameras and edge-processed AI — continuously track resident space objects from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and Cislunar space, detecting objects as small as 2.5 cm. The AI-driven Cortex platform processes and delivers orbital intelligence to customers in approximately 90 seconds, supporting real-time tasking, anomaly detection, collision avoidance alerts, and Pattern of Life analysis.
Founded in April 2022 by UCL astrophysicists Dr Marco Rocchetto and Prof. Ingo Waldmann, alongside entrepreneur Marcel Debczynski, Spaceflux has quickly established itself as a sovereign optical SSA provider to the UK government. The company is the sole optical SSA data provider to the UK's National Space Operations Centre through UK Space Command and the UK Space Agency, and has delivered Project NYX — the UK's first sovereign optical SSA system, installed and commissioned in Cyprus in 2024. Contracts with Dstl for infrared sensor technology have further broadened the company's defence footprint.
Spaceflux has expanded internationally, being selected by Canadian company MDA Space as the optical systems provider for Canada's Surveillance of Space 2 programme — delivering three telescope observatories for the Canadian Armed Forces by 2028. In September 2026, Spaceflux was selected as one of just 15 innovators worldwide for NATO DIANA's Mission Track, receiving €300,000 in non-dilutive funding. A partnership MoU with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation targets the Japanese market. With ~36 employees across offices in London and Venice, Spaceflux is scaling rapidly toward a 25-site global sensor network.
