About
Sunrise Robotics is a Ljubljana, Slovenia-based startup founded in 2023 that builds intelligent, autonomous dual-arm robotic cells for high-mix, low-volume industrial manufacturing. Its cells combine on-board AI, computer vision, and radar-based safety to operate in human-centric environments, performing tasks such as pick & place, positioning, and machine tending. Robots are trained in simulation using digital twins of real workstations and are ready for deployment within hours of arrival on-site—dramatically reducing the typical 6–8 month integration timelines of traditional industrial robotics.
The company's hardware platform uses ABB GoFa collaborative robot arms as the physical execution layer, with Sunrise's AI software stack controlling real-time motion and perception. Sunrise's fleet-learning architecture allows each deployed cell to share insights across the entire fleet, continuously improving performance. Early production deployments have demonstrated a 20% throughput increase (from 72 to 90 parts per hour) achieved purely through software parameter optimization, with no hardware changes required.
Sunrise serves manufacturers in sectors including automotive electronics, high-performance batteries, consumer electronics, and supercar assembly. The company emerged from stealth in June 2025 with an $8.5M seed round and had already achieved its first successful customer deployment in the UK within 18 months of its first engineering hire. It has signed letters of intent with more than 10 partners across Europe. The pan-European team of ~25 people spans a dozen locations, meeting regularly at HQ in Ljubljana.
