About
Sybilla Technologies is a Bydgoszcz-based company that provides space situational awareness data, analytics and systems. It operates a proprietary global network of 50 automated optical sensors across six continents, used to track satellites, space debris and other orbital objects. Its services cover LEOP and routine tracking, collision-risk management, manoeuvre verification, anomaly investigation, object characterisation, fragmentation analysis and re-entry monitoring. Its customers include national space agencies, the European Space Agency, defence organisations and institutions such as Airbus, Leonardo and the UK Space Command, and it delivers Space Surveillance and Tracking data to the EU Space Surveillance and Tracking framework.
The company designs and builds robotic optical observatories and turnkey observation systems, and develops software for automated data acquisition, analysis and scheduling across sensor networks. It has taken part in European Defence Fund and ESA-backed projects including SAURON, GEON and EON. In 2024 it was selected as the sole Polish entity to receive funding under the 2023 EDF EMISSARY project, which covers a sensor network and military-grade Space Situational Awareness command and control software. Its optical sensors have also tracked the PIAST satellite constellation.
Sybilla was founded in 2011 by Piotr Sybilski, an astrophysicist who serves as CEO, and was entirely self-funded until 2026. In June 2026 it closed its first external funding round, of over EUR 8 million (about 35 million zloty), led by TCEE Fund IV with advice from 3TS Capital Partners and participation from Vinci, a fund within the BGK group. The company plans to double its headcount and revenue, expand internationally, deepen partnerships in the UK, Germany, Italy and France, and deploy its proprietary sensors into orbit. It was also awarded the Forbes Diamond 2024 title.
