About

TAF Industries (formerly TAF Drones) is a leading Ukrainian defense technology company founded in 2022 by Oleksandr Yakovenko. Headquartered in Kyiv, it designs and manufactures a portfolio of 30+ combat-proven unmanned systems, including FPV loitering munitions (the Kolibri family), reconnaissance UAVs (Babka), electronic warfare systems, repeater drones, AI-guided terminal homing modules, and counter-UAS interceptors (Octopus-100, Kolibri-i10). All core products are codified and certified by Ukraine's Ministry of Defence for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The company operates a distributed manufacturing network of 20+ production sites across Ukraine, producing over 80,000 FPV drones per month and scaling interceptor output to meet both domestic and international demand. An in-house R&D centre drives rapid iteration driven by direct frontline feedback, while an Innovation Hub (Defence Tech cluster) supports third-party miltech developers. TAF is fully self-funded: founder Yakovenko invested $10M of personal capital in early 2024 and the company continuously reinvests revenue from Ukrainian government contracts.

Since mid-2023, TAF has invested over $6M to build a holding structure, acquiring a 51% stake in EW manufacturer Kvazar and 60% of reconnaissance drone maker Babka. Internationally, the company signed joint ventures with German drone pioneer Wingcopter (February 2026, reconnaissance UAV production in Germany) and German C-UAS specialist THYRA (April 2026, interceptor drone production in Germany), both under Ukraine's Build with Ukraine initiative. Gulf states including the UAE (5,000 units), Qatar (2,000), and Kuwait have requested TAF interceptor systems, underscoring strong export demand for its battle-tested platforms.
