About
TEKEVER is a pan-European technology company founded in 2001 in Lisbon, Portugal, specialising in AI-powered autonomous systems for defence and security. Originally bootstrapped as a software and AI services firm by Instituto Superior Técnico alumni, TEKEVER pivoted into unmanned aerial systems (UAS) around 2010 and rapidly became Europe's leading provider of AI-driven autonomous systems. Its flagship platforms — the AR3, AR5, and ARX — deliver intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities across maritime, border, and battlefield environments, with more than 50,000 operational flight hours logged in Ukraine since 2022. Its ATLAS platform provides real-time Intelligence-as-a-Service to government and military customers.
TEKEVER serves military and civil customers across Europe and beyond, with its AR5 platform selected to deliver Project CORVUS — a £400 million, 10-year contract to replace the British Army's Watchkeeper drone capability. The company has also secured contracts with the Portuguese Air Force, EMSA, and multiple NATO member states. Its dual-use systems are deployed in wildfire detection, marine wildlife protection, oil spill monitoring, and search-and-rescue in addition to military ISR missions.
In May 2025, TEKEVER became Europe's newest defence technology unicorn, confirming a valuation above £1 billion. In September 2026 it closed the first tranche of a $580 million Series D at a $6.4 billion valuation, led by UC Investments (University of California's investment arm, marking its first direct European investment) and Baillie Gifford. The company operates offices and manufacturing facilities across Portugal, the UK (Bristol, Swindon, Southampton), France (Toulouse), Estonia (Tallinn), and the USA (Fayetteville, NC), and has acquired Edinburgh-based Flowcopter to expand its heavy-lift autonomous capabilities.
