About
Tempterno Defence is an Estonian defence technology company that develops weapons systems for unmanned and autonomous platforms. The company was registered in Tallinn in June 2025 and is backed by Darkstar Ventures. Its work covers air, land and surface platforms, with a focus on low-cost munitions for counter-drone and ground-target missions.
Its flagship product is the Tempterno CP260, an unguided multi-target mini-rocket weighing about 1 kg, with a maximum range of up to 2.5 km and an effective range of 200 to 500 metres. The developers put the cost per shot at around EUR 1,000. The rocket can be launched from multicopters, fixed-wing UAVs, ground launchers or by hand from the shoulder. In its air-defence configuration it uses a proximity fuze that creates a cloud of tungsten pellets, while high-explosive, incendiary and anti-armour warheads are in development for ground targets. The missile is currently guided manually by a camera on the launcher, and the company is working on AI-based target detection and acquisition. A separate Estonian company is developing the launcher. The CP260 was unveiled at the MSPO defence exhibition in Poland in September 2026.
Tempterno has been selected for the EU-Ukraine BraveTech EU programme run with the European Defence Agency. It was named one of six first-phase winners in July 2026, and one of four companies awarded EUR 300,000 in Phase II in October 2026 after operational trials at EU OPEX in Portugal. The company is a member of the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association and has contacted Ukrainian companies about cooperation on vehicle integration and targeting software.
