About

TYTAN Technologies is a Munich-based deep-tech defence company founded in 2023 by TUM graduates Balázs Nagy (CEO) and Batuhan Yumurtacı (CTO). The company builds AI-powered autonomous interceptor drones designed to detect, track, and neutralise hostile unmanned aerial threats at scale. Its two flagship platforms — the TI-1 METIS (high-speed kinetic interceptor, 200 km/h, 20 km range) and the TI-2 EOS (long-endurance interceptor, 375 km/h, 60 km range) — use ground radar guidance, AI-powered thermal cameras, and kinetic or fragmentation warheads to engage NATO Class II drone threats at a fraction of the cost of legacy air-defence systems.

TYTAN's systems have been battlefield-tested in Ukraine and are designed to integrate into existing multi-layered air-defence architectures via an open, modular architecture — avoiding vendor lock-in. The company targets European armed forces, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators. It has secured government contracts including a reported Bundeswehr procurement deal, and partners with major industrial players including HENSOLDT (sensor integration and C2), DEUTZ (propulsion and energy systems), KNDS (land-system integration), and Mercedes-Benz (vehicle-based counter-drone platforms).

With over 150 team members across 33+ nationalities, TYTAN has rapidly scaled from a TUM Venture Labs spinout to a full-scale production operation at its new Munich headquarters and manufacturing facility, targeting output of up to 3,000 interceptor drones per month. Total funding stands at €46M following a €30M Series A in February 2026 co-led by Armira and the NATO Innovation Fund.
