About
Unchained Robotics is a Paderborn-based industrial automation platform founded in 2019 by Mladen Milicevic and Kevin Freise. The company operates an online marketplace where factories can search, compare, and purchase robots, cobots, grippers, cameras, and other automation components from dozens of leading manufacturers — giving SMEs transparent, vendor-neutral access to industrial robotics hardware for the first time.
At the heart of its product suite is LUNA OS, a hardware-agnostic operating system for industrial robots that integrates machines from multiple manufacturers into production environments through a unified, smartphone-style interface. Complementing the platform is MalocherBot, a modular, turnkey automation system available in multiple configurations for palletizing, bin picking, machine tending, and other common factory tasks. With more than 300 companies in Europe already using MalocherBot, the company is expanding globally, including a landmark deployment of over 20 robots with Albéa Group, one of the world's largest cosmetic packaging manufacturers.
Unchained Robotics targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) facing skilled-labour shortages, offering rapid deployment (processes can be automated in a matter of hours), flexible leasing options, and an intuitive software layer that requires no specialist robotics expertise. Strategic partnerships with logistics providers such as Arvato Direct Services further extend its reach into warehouse automation. The company has approximately 58–60 employees and is actively expanding into the United States.
