About

VAERIDION is a Munich-based electric aviation company founded in 2021 by former Airbus managers Ivor van Dartel and Dr. Sebastian Seemann. The company is developing the Microliner, a clean-sheet 100% battery-electric aircraft designed for commercial regional routes. The nine-passenger-plus-crew aircraft targets a range of 400 km with IFR reserves, a cruise speed of 190 KEAS, and less than 40 minutes charging time. Key innovations include wing-integrated modular batteries and a multi-engine, single-propeller propulsion system optimized for energy efficiency and noise reduction. VAERIDION is pursuing EASA CS-23 certification, having completed two Pre-Application Contracts (PACs) with EASA — including a second PAC in collaboration with GKN Aerospace covering high-voltage electrical systems — placing it ahead of competitors on the certification track.

The company has established a battery development lab at the Bosch Collaboration Campus and inaugurated its first manufacturing facility and test house at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport in 2026. Strategic partnerships include Bosch Aviation Technology, GKN Aerospace, Evolito, MT-Propeller, Drive System Design, and Deutsche Aircraft. The Microliner completed its aircraft-level Preliminary Design Review (PDR) in June 2026 and has secured over 100 aircraft commitments from operators across Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Czech Republic, and the Netherlands, with ASL Group as the launch customer.

VAERIDION has 75+ employees representing over 25 nationalities, and is also supported by the European Investment Bank advisory services. First prototype flight is targeted for 2027, with entry into commercial service planned for 2030. The company is also exploring defence applications for its proprietary battery system technology, with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) as its first battery technology partnership.
