About

Vegvisir (operating as Defensphere OÜ) is an Estonian-Croatian defence technology company founded in 2021 that develops extended-reality (XR) head-mounted display systems and software for military platforms across all domains. Its three core products — CORE (360° see-through-armour situational awareness for crewed armoured vehicles), NANO (compact remote-operation system for uncrewed platforms), and VCS/Virtual Command Station (a headset-based mobile command & control environment) — share a common VISOR AR headset and Comms Module pipeline, giving crews, remote operators, and commanders a single unified operational picture.

The company's platform-agnostic philosophy means it integrates with existing cameras, sensors, and communications rather than requiring customers to replace their architecture. Technology highlights include ultra-low-latency 360° video stitching, multi-link communications (cellular, satellite, tactical mesh, fibre), head-tracking optics, and AI-aided detection and decision support. All products comply with NATO STANAG standards and have been validated in live-fire exercises with the Estonian Defence Forces on platforms including the CV90 IFV.

Vegvisir's largest recurring customer is the Australian Army, which trialled the system on uncrewed M113 APCs in 2024. Products have also been delivered to Ukraine and Estonia, with trials or clients in more than ten countries including Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company has an MoU with Milrem Robotics to integrate its XR layer with autonomous UGVs, and is a consortium partner in the EU-funded VANTAGE next-generation VTOL tactical drone programme.

Headquartered in Tallinn with an extended engineering team in Osijek, Croatia, Vegvisir has raised disclosed funding of approximately €1.2M+ across multiple rounds, backed by investors including Scalewolf and Iron Wolf Capital, and counts Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Väärsi as a personal investor. The company was formally launched at Eurosatory 2022 and has since exhibited at DSEI and IDEX 2025.
