About
Vitesy is an Italian company based in Pordenone that designs smart, sustainable devices for home air quality and food freshness. It was founded by Paolo Ganis, Alessio D'Andrea and Vincenzo Vitiello, and presented its first product, a natural air purifier developed from a university thesis project, at CES in Las Vegas in 2016. The company describes itself as a B Corp and combines plant-based phytoremediation concepts, photocatalytic technology and proprietary software in its products.
The product line includes Shelfy, a refrigerator purifier that uses photocatalysis to reduce bacteria and odours and is marketed as extending the freshness of fruit and vegetables by up to 12 days; a second generation, Shelfy 2, was launched in 2025, and a compact Shelfy Lite was crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2025. Other products include Natede Smart, a washable-filter air purifier that monitors temperature, humidity, fine dust, CO2 and VOCs through the Vitesy Hub app, Eteria, a compact personal air purifier, Vitesy Deo, an odour remover for small enclosed spaces, and Vitesy Fruit Bowl, a fruit bowl using catalytic technology that was launched in 2026. The filters are washable rather than replaced, which the company presents as a way to reduce waste and running costs.
Vitesy sells through its own e-commerce site and retailers, and has reported sales of more than 50,000 products in over 80 countries, with Shelfy sold in the United States and Japan. In 2024 Smeg agreed to integrate Vitesy's photocatalytic technology into its Dolomite refrigerator collection. The company has received several design awards, including Red Dot awards for Shelfy, and reported revenue of about 2 million euros for 2024. Its funding includes European Innovation Council support, crowdfunding campaigns and equity rounds from Doorway, CDP Venture Capital's Rilancio Startup Fund and Mediaset, bringing total funding to roughly 14 million euros.
