About
Wandelbots is a Dresden-based deep-tech software company founded in 2017 that develops the NOVA platform — described as the world's first vendor-agnostic operating system for industrial robots. NOVA enables manufacturers to plan, build, and operate robotic automation across any robot brand (ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, and others) without vendor lock-in or specialized programming expertise. The platform supports modern development tools including Python and JavaScript, and integrates digital twin simulation via NVIDIA Omniverse alongside cloud orchestration through Microsoft Azure.
The NOVA platform consists of three integrated layers: NOVA OS (the robot-agnostic execution engine deployed on-site), NOVA Cloud (launched in June 2025 for real-time fleet orchestration, AI-powered optimization, and multi-site coordination), and a Developer Portal for building and simulating automation solutions. Customers include global industrial enterprises such as Schaeffler, Volkswagen, 3M, and SHL — the world's largest system integrator for robotic grinding — who use NOVA to cut engineering time, reduce cycle times, and scale automation across plants without reprogramming.
Wandelbots has raised approximately $121M across three equity rounds from top-tier investors including Insight Partners, 83North, EQT Ventures, Microsoft's M12, Next47, Paua Ventures, and Atlantic Labs. The company pivoted to a pure software strategy in 2023 and launched NOVA publicly in November 2024, following a closed beta with ~50 enterprise customers. It has since expanded its ecosystem with strategic partnerships with NVIDIA, Microsoft, SoftServe, and Vathos, and made its US debut at ProMat 2025 in Chicago.
