About
ZeroPhase GmbH is a Munich-based defense technology company developing sovereign, software-defined data-link technology for unmanned platforms operating in contested environments. Its flagship product, Aether 1, is a compact software-defined radio (SDR) that delivers 100+ km line-of-sight range, dual-RF-chain jam resistance, zero-degradation relay, and native-IP Ethernet connectivity — all in a 50 g, credit-card-sized air unit. The system is designed to integrate into UAVs ranging from sub-2 kg quadrotors to long-endurance fixed-wing aircraft with a single Ethernet port and no proprietary middleware.
Founded in 2025 by serial entrepreneur Dr. Florian Petit (previously co-founder of LiDAR startup Blickfeld) and Cambridge physicist Lukas Pertl, ZeroPhase designs its own RF front-ends, writes its own firmware, and assembles units in Germany — a deliberate vertical integration strategy to maintain control over every variable in the link budget. The company operates offices in Munich (HQ) and Dortmund, with software development concentrated in Dortmund.
ZeroPhase's technology has been validated in active combat conditions, deployed across close to 1,000 drones supporting more than 10,000 unmanned missions in Ukraine's heavily jammed frontline environments. The company is in initial production with Aether 1 Revision 2.0, shipping Q3 2026, and is actively extending its platform toward mesh networking and space applications. It targets European defense, aerospace, and security customers who require sovereign, interoperable communication solutions.
